One of our favourite magazines on food or indeed any subject.
Fire & Knives is a print quarterly of new writing about food. It gives established writers a place for work that would not be published elsewhere; new writers a place to show themselves and experts in other fields an opportunity to write about our favourite subject. Whether it's interesting or traditional recipes, advice on butchers' cuts, Fire and Knives has plenty of great writing that covers many an angle on British food and it's history. Produced on high quality paper with some equally impressive artwork.

Very often we receive magazines that probably try too hard to please, whilst forgetting to put enough content in. Where loads of time and effort has gone into the design and not enough into the written content. Fire and Knives manages to satisfy both sides of this publication dilemma.
With the world of food at it's disposal, F&k is as likely to have quotes from the bible as it is a recipe from Olde Cornwall or instructions to make Greek Coffee. You'll find old yarns and key food personnel from recent history written about with skilful description, and finally learn what to do with an "end of collar" pork joint (boil it, and boil it good an' proper, by the way).
The magazine is in A5 format, virtually, if not entirely, bereft of advertisements and is made on quality paper with many of the pages a different shade which keeps things lively with all the printed word about the place.
In any case, this is the kind of magazine that will be going strong despite digital influences, so thank you Tim Hayward, keep up the good work as it's keeping us in work...
