A rather nifty little pocket-sized publication that is packed with great food ideas.
Everyday Food offers a vast array of simple, unpretentious recipes that would be perfect to try at home.
Everyday Food was founded by American domestic goddess Martha Stewart, and it features a huge number of mouth watering recipes that would be simple to try at home, each being beautifully illustrated and thoroughly explained step-by-step. It also features tips on improving your cooking, healthy eating and ideas themed around the different uses for an ingredient. Though American in nature, all these recipes would work wonderfully wherever you are, whether you fancy a starter, main, dessert or simply a quick bite to eat.

Sometimes we feel that chefs can get a bit carried away in their pursuit of cooking perfection, to the point where the term ‘molecular gastronomy’ is actually a recognised description. Now, don’t get us wring, we love the likes of Heston Blumenthal and his absolutely insane ideas of what it is possible to do with food. There’s something to be said for a restaurant where you can experience something that you would otherwise not be able to, whether that is bacon and eggs ice cream, snail porridge or parsley cereal.
The only problem with that is that the vast majority of us will never be able to replicate these at home, meaning that the recipes are best served in a restaurant and kept there. None of us have liquid nitrogen at home (at least, we hope you don’t), or a centrifuge, or any of the other pieces of scientific equipment Heston uses.
Everyday Food remembers that well, featuring recipes that you actually could (and will want to) try at home. You need only the usual kitchen equipment, the ingredients are all widely available, yet the end result is exceptionally delicious. So get to your kitchens, try something new, and see whether you like it – you never know, you could become famous amongst your friends for your delicious food. NB
