Back in the 1980's Margie Bauer (no relation to the German publishing powerhouse we think), founder of Australia's Inspirations Magazine, wanted her own young children to wear beautiful smocked and embroidered dresses. Finding that they were not only rare but also extremely expensive, she decided to learn how to make them herself..
You can see where this is going, in a well told story of rags to, well, rags, the embroidery lady went on to teach friends, open crafts classes and eventually publish books and magazines.
And from this grew the "Country Bumpkin" range of books and magazines. Classic Inpirations UK is a beautifully made magazine and a credit to Margie - its exactly the same format and embroidery content as the Australian magazine but with just a name change (which isn't even registered on the magazine cover).
We have this magazine down as averaging around 450g, which is a nice size for a quarterly magazine. We are planning to publish these average weights on the site so that our visitors can see how much mag they are likely to get for their money. Sadly, what with the amount of advertisements often jammed into many of the glossies, the weight is really only half the story (or should that be, the story is really only half the weight?). That's why we think that offering you the chance to buy just a single copy of any magazine and not just a subscription, gives you the chance to decide if it's worth ordering more regularly.
That is our philosophy - give the customers maximum choice and they will guide us as to the best magazines available. This is certainly one of them.
Classic Inspirations Magazine is in the Knitting and Crochet category and is just one of over 3,000 magazines now available at Newsstand, to browse recent front covers of Classic Inspirations Magazine, please click here.
