Designs are detailed and geared toward experienced stitchers. Contests, large patterns, crosswords, reviews of new products, designer profiles, and pattern series are included. Each issue of Cross Stictch Collection magazine also features a copy-right free chart you may stitch and sell.
Largely aimed at experienced cross-stitchers,
Cross Stitch Collection magazine is a repository of the most beautiful and elegant cross-stitch designs imaginable. Scattered across its pages are numerous different designs as well as ideas for how to take them further.
Whilst there is a guide to getting started in cross stitch included within, we recommend this magazine mainly to those who have firmly established their cross-stitching calluses. Nevertheless there are interesting articles and ideas from cross-stitch experts, and enough designs to keep your hands occupied right up until the next monthly issue.

Some of the manly men here at Newsstand find themselves a little confused by the world of cross-stitching. Perhaps it might be that we do not appreciate the joy that slowly creating a masterpiece of design, keeping your hands busy and your mind occupied can bring. Perhaps it could be that we don’t have the requisite attention span. Nevertheless we have turned out thoughts towards how we could liven up (read, ruin) this most gentle and lovely of past-times.
Speed-Stitch – teams of cross-stitchers race against time to create a design revealed to them only seconds before. Live on TV. For Big Money Prizes. A dropped stitch means a 5 second penalty, and the finished item closest to the original receives a bonus prize – the ‘Golden Needle’.
Death-Stitch – perched precariously over a vat of lava (or custard, for the more family friendly version), a single wrongly placed stitch results in instant immolation (or custardisation).
It’s a Knock-Stitch – Teams must work together to create a ludicrously sized cross-stitch pattern using needles the size of a man.
Strip-stitch – less said about this the better. NB
