One of the highest quality children's magazines we stock, Anorak is a wonderfully cheerful, colourful and friendly publication that really is a cut above.
With its high production qualities and perfect-bound spine, this would make a wonderful gift for a child whether a boy or a girl. There are wonderful stories, accompanied with excellent illustrations, activities, puzzles and fascinating facts scattered throughout. The design work is really top-notch in Anorak, with everything clearly but elegantly laid out whilst still managing to include some really stylish and quirky artwork. There are only 5 issues a year, but it’s well worth the wait.

Anorak is a particular favourite here at Newsstand, and there are several reasons why this is the case. First and foremost, it is something that has obviously had a huge amount of love and attention poured into it, and nothing feels rushed. There is a definite feel of quality to it – something you might expect given the price – and it is the kind of publication we can imagine being rediscovered years down the line by children now grown up, with a wistful and nostalgic smile upon their face…
We also love the fact that, unlike the vast majority of children's magazines, it doesn’t explicitly target either gender. We do get a little tired of the endless treadmill of magazines we receive featuring fairies, princesses or fairy princesses, each looking like an explosion in a pink paint factory and with some tacky plastic jewellery sellotaped to the front. We also get a little fatigued by the sheer number of publications that have some kind of gun strapped to the front. Anorak does not need these gimmicks, relying simply on elegant and somewhat timeless quality to see it through.
The final words we’ll say are simply this – we would have been overjoyed to have been given a copy of Anorak when we were young. NB
